Once, when I was around 12 or 13 I was staring at a picture of my great-grandmother. It was black and white, a patina finished frame and for some reason enchanting. My grandma let me hold the picture, she didn’t give me any other information about the woman in the photograph. While I was studying this photo a lot of random things popped into my head. My grandma asked me who I thought she was, I told her she looked like my great-grandmother on grandpa’s side. She then asked me to guess at when the photo was taken, I casually told her 1926 and she looked like she was wearing a wedding dress. My grandma was a little surprised but confirmed all this information was true. The photo was my great-grandmother on my grandpa’s side, the year was 1926 and that was her in her wedding dress. It was the first time this had ever happened. This isn’t a parlor trick, this was clairtangency.
Clairtangency (often called psychometry) is the ability to gather information or impressions by touching or holding an object. It requires an active, sustained suppression of the logical mind to process overwhelming physical sensations and involves navigating a flood of tactile and emotional data triggered by physical touch, which the brain is rarely trained to decipher. This often leads to the possibility of feeling overwhelmed and not knowing what the real message is, but in reality everything you receive is the message that needs to be shared. It is the culmination of all the clairs working together.
If you’re interested in learning more about clairtangency and discovering how to make sense of the messages you’re receiving, register for Meet the Clairs: An Introduction to Tapping Into Your Intuition where I teach you how to recognize and connect with all eight of your clair senses. I look forward to seeing you in class!
