Have you ever closed your eyes and tasted your grandma’s Italian Beef on your tongue? Your taste buds light up because it tastes sooo good. The only thing is, she’s been dead for over a decade and there’s no physical meal in front of you. Perhaps you can still taste the first piece of saltwater taffy your grandfather gave you. Again, it’s not physically in your mouth, but you can taste it all the same. These are examples of clairgustance.

Clairgustance is the ability to taste flavors or substances (including cigarettes/cigars, medications, alcohol, etc.) without physically ingesting them. These tastes are usually associated with memories of a specific person, place, situation. In the physical world, taste is heavily linked to memory and survival. Spiritually, it means that you taste things energetically and translating external, non-physical energy into highly specific, localized tastes (like sweetness, metal, or specific foods) requires a distinct form of psychic "tuning". Clairgustance is an unusual clair because it is one of the more obscure clairs and is much less frequently reported or practiced than the four more well know clairs of clairaudience, clairvoyance, clairsentience and claircognizance.
